The Card Catalog Poetry Project (the initial project that led to the Club’s development):

From 2005 to 2012, The Rooftop Poetry Club, founded and curated by librarian-poet Lisa Forrest, was a key venue for writers to share their work, connect with one another, and contribute to Buffalo’s rich creative writing community.  Named after the rooftop garden meeting space at Buffalo State College’s E. H. Butler Library, the Club hosted over 115 literary events, including creative writing workshops, open mic events, community art projects, and readings by hundreds of local and national poets.  Though the Club is no longer active, its web site (created by Dennis Reed, Jr.) makes available an important archive of audio-visual material representing the Club’s seven years of events. Please browse the club’s archive of past projects, photos, and podcasts.
